癥結點：So as to 不能放句首。
其實就這麼簡單。
太多人拐彎抹角、解釋了一大堆事情啦～ 結果，學生還是有聽、沒有懂。
「好的老師，就是要能一句話、一張圖，就道破任何一個文法的關鍵核心。」
另外，in an effort to VR 其實不是「為了…」，而是「努力…，試圖…」。這個學生也誤會了。
不過，看來是這個學生對於「表達『目的』的句型」不太熟悉，藉這個機會，我也想來補充一下。
表「目的」的句型
這個句型，正如其名，是當我們需要表達某個動作的「目的」時使用的。這是個非常實用、生活常見、題目愛考、作文好用的句型喔！
由於這個句型的完整版很大，我今天就先來介紹最常見的一種：使用「不定詞」表「目的」各種變化型。
to VR
= in order to VR
= so as to VR
= in an attempt to VR
我們來看例句：
John appeared with a large bouquet of flowers to impress the girl.
John帶著一大束花出現來給那個女生留下深刻印象。
Investment has been increased in order to improve the transportation system.
投資已經增加，來改善交通系統。
The politician made up a story of being abducted so as to get votes.
那個政治人物編造被綁架的故事以獲取選票。
He worked day and night in an attempt to fix the mistake he made.
他日以繼夜地工作，以彌補他所犯的錯。
這個句型，就翻譯題(或寫作文)的觀點來說，有個重點：
「如果在中文翻譯裡，出現『來…』、『以…』的字眼，通常就是表達『目的』的含意。此時，就要使用表目地的句型。」
上面的四個例句，就是最好的例子。大家可以回頭觀察一下。
第二件事情，就是這邊提到的：
so as to 不能放句首，但其他的都可以。
因此，剛剛上面三句，可以改成如下：
To impress the girl, John appeared with a large bouquet of flowers.
為了給那個女生留下深刻印象，John帶著一大束花出現。
In order to improve the transportation system, investment has been increased.
為了改善交通系統，投資已經增加。
In an attempt to fix the mistake he made, he worked day and night.
為了彌補他所犯的錯，他日以繼夜地工作。
但是剛剛的「The politician made up a story of being abducted so as to get votes.」這個句子，想要把 so as to 拉到句首時，必須要換掉、改成其他的寫法。最常見的就是改寫成 In order to VR。
In order to get votes, the politician made up a story of being abducted.
為了獲取選票，那個政治人物編造被綁架的故事。
